Player templates and customization

How templates work

To flexibly customize the player for different video groups and tasks in Kinescope, you can create your own templates. Each template has a unique name, and can be assigned by default to both a project and an individual video.

For example, you can use one template with visible controls for Videos A and B, and another with rounded corners and a hidden rewind bar for Videos C and Project D.

The list displays the names of your player templates in the workspace, as well as information about their update date, author and the number of media files where to certain player is applied to. If you click on this number you can see all these files in the Catalog, filtered by the specified Player Template. You can edit the Template by clicking on its name. The context menu in the list ⁝ (three dots) allows you to Customize, Rename or Duplicate a Player template.

Player appearance and branding settings

  1. Basic settings tab within Player customization include general settings of the template and the settings before and during playback.
  2. Advanced settings: includes additional control bar settings, streaming to devices, customization of the setup menu, player controls, and other settings.

All settings changes can be seen in the player in the preview area in real time, but are applied to the built-in players only after you save them. You can also select the Desktop/Mobile display mode of the player to check how certain changes will look.
