Uploading files (see Supported File Formats) is the first and most crucial step toward getting started with Kinescope, so we have made it as simple as possible.

You can upload files or folders by dragging them into the interface or using the file explorer. Note that all content in Kinescope must be uploaded within a Project. Projects work as media libraries and allow bulk file settings to be applied.

Create a New Project

To create a new Project, click the ⊕ Create a new project button in the Catalog tab in the left panel. In a new dialog window, you can give your Project a title, enable file encryption to protect the file from downloading, and select default settings, such as default video player and allowed domains.

Uploading to Kinescope

To upload your content to Kinescope, you can drag and drop the file(s) or folder(s) directly to the desired project area or click the New drop-down menu to display more upload options.

Currently, Kinescope supports six media upload options: file upload, folder upload, file request, upload via URL, upload from cloud storage, and upload via API. Below you will find more details on each of these options.

File Upload

If you're looking to upload a single file or multiple files in one go, this is your best option. Utilize the upload dialogue box to select and transfer files from your computer.

Folder Upload

You can upload an entire folder or multiple folders at the same time. As with the file upload, you can select multiple folders to be uploaded at once.

File Request

The file request is a convenient way to request files from other people who don't have access to your Project or dashboard.

To request a file, go to the New drop-down menu and click File request.
