You might have already seen a little bin icon in the left bottom corner just underneath the Storage icon.

The trash bin is an option for deleted files. It’s a basic feature similar to most operating systems such as Windows and macOS or cloud storages. You’ll find it on Kinescope too - it is useful to avoid irrevocably losing media files that were deleted by mistake or prematurely.

Items (files and folders) that you have deleted will go to the Trash bin and continue to take up storage space for 30 days (this is the default storage time, you can change it if you’d like to). When the storage time exceeds this 30 days, the files will be deleted automatically. To free up more space, you can empty the Trash Bin completely or selectively at any time.

<aside> 🚨 If files have been deleted from the Trash Bin (either automatically after the storage time has expired or manually by a User granted rights to delete files), we, unfortunately, would not be able to help you recover them. When you empty the Trash Bin, the contents get physically removed from Kinescope servers permanently.

Trash bin file storage time

Files that have been deleted are available in the Trash Bin for a specified storage time with a default time set at 30 days. If you want to change this time go over to the menu ( ⁝ ) when hovering over the Recycle Bin icon > Storage Period. The following options are available:
